Upgrade and crafting systems heavily contributed to this as well and were quite irksome to deal with.įor all its faults and weaknesses ME1 still felt like you were on this otherworldly adventure and captured that 70s/80s hard sci-fi feeling so well. And it all felt so game-y and artificial. I just didn't not enjoy exploring these planets, it was just so much filler and busy work. DAI suffered from this as well, but MEA was significantly worse for me. I found the open world design to be especially tiring. Some of the characters and companions were enjoyable, but there just wasn't enough there for me to really care about or get invested in. I fervently wanted to like Andromeda, but it just failed on too many levels with what I expected from a Mass Effect game. Why has Andromeda received a lot of backlash?Īnyone else enjoy it more than the first game? Perhaps after this one I'll try to stomach 1 again and move through the trilogy, we'll see what happens. Perhaps I'll find out later why most people say it's dog shit, but as of right now (just set up my first little colony) I'm finding this a lot better than ME1. And the exploration and tracking down resources is so far, interesting as well.
I enjoy the little booster on my back, hovering, skills, it's all been quite enjoyable. The battle system has been much more enjoyable than 1, driving is a hell of a lot better than the mess that was trying to pilot the vehicle in ME1 as well. So I'm not much of a Mass Effect player, I've tried to get into Mass Effect 1 on PC a handful of times and just wasn't having very much fun with it most of the time, so I decided to pick up Andromeda for 5 bucks during the last steam sale and.I'm having quite a bit of fun with it?
